Itinerary

Day 1 :
Kolkata: Arrival and Leisure Day

Your arrival at Kolkata airport is marked by a tour representative’s welcome. From here, you will be transferred to the hotel. Complete check-in formalities and relax. Rest of the day is at your leisure. You can visit Science City or go shopping at Park Street or Gariahat.

After a lovely day, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 :
Kolkata: Enjoy Sightseeing

Arise to a nutritious breakfast and get ready for a lovely sightseeing tour of the city. Visit places like Fort William, Victoria Memorial, Eden Gardens Stadium, Birla Planetarium, Howrah Bridge, Marble Palace, Writer's Building, and Nicco Park.

After a happening day, return to the hotel, and tuck yourself in the bed for a sleep.

Day 3 :
Port Blair: Off to the Incredible Islands

Greet the morning with a wholesome breakfast and checkout from the hotel. You will be transferred to Kolkata airport to catch a flight to Port Blair. On arrival, you will be escorted to the hotel for check-in. Freshen up and start with the sightseeing. You will be heading to attractions that include Anthropological Museum, Cellular Jail, Fisheries Museum, Science Centre, and Corbyn's Cove Beach.

Watch Light and Sound Show at the Cellular Jail in the evening. Thereafter, come back to the hotel for a relaxing sleep.

Day 4 :
Port Blair: Island Hopping

Break’ the night long ‘fast’ and get ready for an exceptional experience. Explore the famous islands of Andaman & Nicobar Island Group including Ross Island, Viper Island and North Bay Island/Coral Island via cruise. Among all the islands, explore the beauty of Coral Island in a glass bottom boat or go scuba diving and snorkeling to witness the colorful coral colonies up close.

After enjoying the day, come back to the hotel and sleep restfully.

Day 5 :
Havelock Island: To the Happening Zone

Wake up to a delicious morning meal and checkout from the hotel. Now, you will be transferred to Havelock Island via ferry. Once you reach, check-in to the hotel and energize to explore the island and have fun here. Indulge in the best of scuba diving experience here. Visit Kalapathar Beach and soak in the relaxing vibes.

Later, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6 :
Port Blair: A Beach Day

Have a scrumptious breakfast and visit the world famous Radhanagar Beach, which is also listed among Asia's top 10 beaches. Delight in activities such as swimming, sun-bathing, and strolling around. Don’t miss out on the spectacular sunset here.

In the late noon, get transferred to Port Blair. When you reach, complete check-in formalities at the hotel and relax. Later, sleep at the comfort of the hotel.

Day 7 :
Port Blair: Day Trip to Mount Harriet

Kick start your day with a toothsome breakfast and get ready for a Mount Harriet trip. Catch the bird’s eye view from the top. National Park is in proximity where you can spot the exotic wildlife of the region.

Alternatively, you can take up a trek around. By noon, you will be taken back to Port Blair. Once you reach, check-in to the hotel. Evening is at your leisure to enjoy shopping. After you have bought souvenirs like pearl jewelry, local wood mats, and bamboo and shells knick-knacks; return to the hotel to sleep peacefully.

Day 8 :
Port Blair: The Tour Concludes

Post breakfast, checkout from the hotel and get transferred to the airport. Board your flight back home with souvenirs in your bags and memories in your heart.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
